I’ve seen men like him. Despised them. The way they treat women as if they are their property, they discard them and pick them back up on a whim. It makes me want to tell him to go fuck himself and leave. The problem is that when I look at him, when he talks to me, I see a difference. Like if I needed him he’d be there, which I understand is batshit crazy because I don’t even know him. My insides are screaming to let go, give him a chance.

He’s strong and powerful, maybe that doesn’t always need to equal abusive and evil.

I’m so conflicted as I sit there. My past is screaming at me to run far and fast while everything in the present is telling me that I’ll never know what I’m feeling if I don’t explore it.

I simply nod. I don’t trust my voice. Walking over to his mirror, I free my hair from the bun I had it in. My curls are falling down, still a bit wet but looking decent after our late night swim.

We walk outside to his bike and I climb on behind him. As we drive, it feels strangely comfortable like I can relax, so I do. The drive is short, only about fifteen minutes. We pull up to a large chain link gate that another biker slowly begins to open. Every inch of me is completely aware of where we are. I shouldn’t be here. It is wrong on so many levels. His club wouldn’t let me in if they knew who I was, my family would kill me if they knew I was here. Everything about this place feels wrong except the man I am holding onto.

His bike parks next to a long line of others. I climb off, completely uncomfortable as I stand in front of the clubhouse. He takes my hand, leading me inside. “Wait here for me. I’ll only be a few minutes.”

I nod at him and sit down at one of the bar stools. My hands fidget in my lap as I fight to keep my gaze on the floor. I don’t want to make eye contact with anyone. I want to be invisible. Maybe if I am, no one will pay me any attention.

“I ain’t seen you around here before.” Fuck. A sideways glance reveals a biker sitting next to me. “We ain’t had new meat in a while. Let me show you a good time.” His hand lands on my thigh and I smack it off.

“You touch me again and I’ll rip your balls off.” My voice is hard.

“You outta your damn mind, woman? You’re in my club.” The smoothness he had before is gone. His voice is hard and angry as he glares at me.

“My mistake.” I stand up and walk out of the door. I should have never let him take me here. All these damn bikers are the same. I bet he’s banging one of the whores in the back right now. I don’t even care that he drove here, I’ll hitchhike back to town. As I walk toward the gates, the brother from earlier is still standing there. “I need to leave.”

“I only open the gates for brothers or with orders to.” As I look at his cut, I see the prospect patch. Damn, it would have to be one of the bitch boys.

“Listen, asshole, I’m leaving one way or another so open the goddamn —”

“Nikki!” I turn to see Twisted coming out of the clubhouse. Great.

He jogs over to me. “Where you goin’?”

“I need to leave.” I don’t give him any further explanation. He doesn’t need one.

He looks at the prospect. “Walk away.” Without a word he is gone. “What the hell? What happened?”

“What happened is that I don’t belong here. I just need to go. I refuse to be talked to or assumed to be a club whore. I didn’t want to come in the first place, I shouldn’t have.” I turn away from him.

“Alright well, I’m done. Let’s get out of here.” I can tell by his tone that he wants to ask me more. It’s good he doesn’t, because he wouldn’t get anything out of it.

I really am an idiot for agreeing to any of this.

We drive into town and pull into the parking lot of a diner. I step off the bike and follow him inside. The waitress walks us back to one of the booths and hands us our menus. I haven’t looked at him or said a word since we left. I should have just left this morning. I don’t care what spark I feel, being here with him is stupid.

  It’s pointless.

  It will only end.

The waitress stops by again to take our order. He orders a double cheeseburger and cheese fries. I think for a moment before telling her I want the same thing plus a chocolate milkshake. He raises his eyebrows at me. Yeah, I actually eat. She walks away and leaves us sitting there. “So, tell me what the hell happened back there.”

Hell no. “I don’t deal well with bikers assuming I’m a whore, you saw that last night. If I want sex, it’ll be on my terms and with who I say. I’m not the kind of girl to be passed around like the newest flavor of the week. It pissed me off so I wanted to leave.” It’s a half-truth so hopefully it’s enough for him. I don’t know him nearly enough to let him know why the idea of the clubhouse and every asshole in it makes my skin crawl.

He nods. “Look, under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have chased after you. In any other instance, you bein’ alone in the clubhouse, dressed sexy as sin, it attracts attention. You aren’t claimed so you’re fair game. Since you want to be so judgmental, how about you pull the fucking stick out of your ass and I’ll say that I shouldn’t have just left you there. I didn’t think it’d piss you off that much.”

“Why, because I’m a whore? Because I opened my legs for you?” Anger rises in me and I want to jam my fork into his closest appendage.

“Put away the claws, girl. I didn’t mean it like that. Just meant that I thought you’d brush it off. There’s no reason to have the bitch switch permanently flipped.” I feel like an asshole. “I have a feeling it’s gonna take more than a lunch for me to figure you out.”

“You’ll never figure me out.” I wink at him, hoping to breathe a little humor back into this disaster.

“Well, you challenged me last night, and I came out on top. I think I’ll take that one too.” My thoughts drift back to last night and I can’t help but clench my thighs together remembering all of the things the man could do. I had never thought he could actually do it.

  Make me beg for him.

I scream as my fourth orgasm rips through me, his mouth continuing to suck my clit until my limbs completely collapse on the mattress. I swear his tongue must have a goddamn battery compartment hidden somewhere.

His face hovers over mine, slick from my juices and it’s sexy as hell. His hands trail up and down my body, squeezing my nipples each time and dipping into my pussy each time he reaches it.

His head dips down close to my ear, his hot breath setting my skin on fire. “I’m ready to hear it. Tell me you want my dick. Beg me for it. You think these orgasms were good, just wait. When I’m done, you won’t even be able to speak.” His tongue licks a trail down my neck and across my collarbone. I lift my hips, my body begging for him even though my mouth refuses to. “Ask. Me. For. It.”

  No, I won’t. I can’t.

That’s when I look up at him; he’s standing at the edge of the bed, ready and waiting. His hand is stroking his cock. Holy shit.

“I can see how bad you want it. Think of how good it felt earlier, and now I have more control. I’m gonna turn you inside out.” His voice drips sex as he stares down at me.

Hell yes. “I want it. Fuck me.”

He smiles, but doesn’t move. “You asked nice, but I want you to beg. What’s the magic word?”

  Bastard. “Fuck me, please.”

I snap out of it and see him smirking at me. “What?” I try to play it cool like I wasn’t just daydreaming about having sex with him, and like my panties aren’t soaked right now.

“You’re insatiable. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you after this.” He smirks at me, and as much as I want to flip him off, I’m looking forward to his promise. “Let’s change topics before I take your sexy ass to the bathroom and we give all these old people heart attacks.” I can’t help but laugh with him. “How about you tell me about yourself first. Haven’t been on one in a while, but I think that’s par for a date.”

The waitress drops off my milkshake, and I take a sip. “Not much to tell.”r />
“I highly doubt that. Let’s start with family.” He leans back in the bench and watches me.

“My father is really strict. He’s a preacher.” His eyes go wide. “No siblings, my mom died last year.”

He nods. “Sorry about your mom. Although I have to say, I’m shocked that your father’s a preacher.” He laughs again.

“Oh yeah? How about you, hot shot?” I mimic his stature.

“I have a little sister, Lizzie. She’s a pain in my ass. Then I have a brother, Jessie. He’s decent. That’s about it, aside from the club.” He doesn’t mention parents and by the finality of his tone, I don’t ask. “You working?”

“Um, I was but I’m recently unemployed.” He looks at me, expecting me to elaborate. “Let’s just say I don’t have great customer service skills.”

His eyes widen in fake shock. “I never would have guessed.” The waitress drops off our food with a smile and he thanks her. “I have a feeling I’ll enjoy this story, please go on.”

“I was working on Valentine’s Day. It was busy as shit with all these dumb ass love drunk fools spending way too much money on our “love package” which was basically chocolate and flowers for an extra $50. It amazed me how much something as cheesy as that shit gets these girls all doe eyed.” I shake my head as I remember all their star struck faces.

The Rose Room was the place to come if you were trying to impress your girl on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant was full of velvet lined leather booths and curtains draped all over. To me it always seemed cheesy but girls ate it up.

“Some girls actually like that, flowers, compliments, dates.” He laughs.

I can't help but sarcastically chuckle. “Yeah and some of us want to be treated like we have a brain instead of just a pussy that you’re trying to bribe.”

He chokes on the bite of food he’s eating. “I swear, just when I think you can't say anything else to surprise me. Keep going with your story Miss Independent.”

“Well, after three hours of these idiots, I walk up to a table to see one of the bitches from high school I hated. The kind of high-class Malibu Barbie rich bitch that thought her shit smelled like roses. She tried to make me feel like an asshole ’cause I was working and serving her on Valentine's Day, while Richie Rich had her out to dinner. Joke was on her though, because I could tell by the way his eyes scanned the room that he was probably dipping his stick more than a mechanic at a Jiffy Lube.” He cuts me off with his loud laughter, making the people around us turn to look. “Anyway, my friend Missy who got me the job always had this fake $10 ring she wore on her ring finger to keep away the creepers. I asked her for it and told her I’d replace it for her. When Barbie ordered a glass of champagne, I slipped the ring in the bottom and then enjoyed the show.” I can’t help the smile that comes as I remember the smug bitch’s face. “She took a sip, spying the ring and screeched so damn loud I thought the glass might break. She was jumping up yelling yes and clapping the entire time. Richie was sitting there confused as all hell and terrified of the prospect that she thought he wanted her ass around for more than a night.”

“Holy shit.” His hands scrub his face as he laughs. “Girl, you are one crazy broad. I’ve never in my damn life met a woman like you.”

I take a huge bite of my burger, enjoying the fact that I seem to have impressed him with my psychotic tendencies.

A part of me wishes I had met him at a different time.

  In a different life.

  CHAPTER 5

  Twisted

It’s been a week since Hurricane Nikki rolled into my life and everything I swore I would never fucking do or want is happening. The girl is a damn addiction for me. Ever since the first night I had a taste of her, she’s all I can think about. Her smart mouth is constantly keeping me guessing and her body has me on high alert every damn second of the day.

As hesitant as she was, I have gotten her in my bed every night this week. She swears that one day she just won't answer when I call, but we both know she’s as addicted to this as much as I am.

She is like no woman I have ever met. She’s tough, and in no way wants me to take care of her. Which if I’m honest, only makes me want to more. I love pissing her off because when she gets mad she is only hotter. Trust me, I get how damn messed up that is. I haven’t taken her back to the club since that first day and she has made it clear it’s nowhere that she wants to be.

It’s the only thing about her that I would change. The club is my life, my family. I feel like if she could drop her bullshit assumptions, she’d love it. I just got back from a three-day run and all I want to do is go find her and sink myself deep into her.

She won’t tell me where she lives, or let me drop her off there. Apparently her father hates bikers and everything about the clubs. Being a preacher, he’s really religious and feels we’re all living in sin. When she told me that, I asked her if her father ever met her; that cost me a bit. I enjoyed every minute of it though.

“Twisted!” I turn to see Lucy walking up to me. Lucy came to the club when she was only fourteen and looking for protection from her psychotic family. She and my brother Whip are engaged, and I think of the girl as my little sister. She gives me a hug. “Hey, I didn’t know you were back. What are you doing down here?”

“Meeting someone.” I haven’t told anyone but Whip about Nikki.

She scrunches her eyebrows at me. “Okay…”

I see Nikki out of the corner of my eye but she stops when she spots Lucy. Her eyes narrow and she turns on her heel, walking away. Shit. “Hold on Luce.” I jog after her. One thing I’ve learned is that something has happened in this girl’s past. She’s been hurt because she takes no bullshit and has no problem walking away if she feels like she has an excuse to. Sometimes it’s like she is looking for a damn excuse. I catch up, standing in front of her and blocking her path. “It isn’t even what you think.”

“It’s cool. I’m not your old lady. I don’t even want to be. She can have you.” She tries to walk around me but I stop her.

“You have no idea what you’re talking about. Calm the bitch down for a minute and come here.” I take her hand, giving her a hard tug before she starts to walk. We get back to my bike and Lucy. She is looking at Nikki as if she’s an alien. “Lucy this is Nikki, Nikki this is Lucy, she is my brother Whip’s old lady. She’s also basically my adopted little sister.”

Lucy smiles at Nikki. “Hey, nice to meet you.” She looks over at me, a huge smile on her face. Lucy is the same as my damn sister, always trying to tell me to meet a girl and claim an old lady. I can see her plotting in her head right now. “Well, I need to get home, but you two have fun.” The smile on her face tells me I’m screwed.

“You know, you could always ask before you just assume shit.” I look over at her. As much as I love her attitude, it makes me insane at the same time.

Her arms are crossed over her chest and I can see some red in her cheeks. She’s embarrassed. “This is why I told you none of this would work.”

She goes to walk away and I grab her hand. “You’re not just gonna leave. Let’s go, you’re comin’ home with me.”

Her face is reluctant. I can see the internal struggle as her eyes dart back and forth between my bike and the sidewalk. “What are we even doing? This is crazy.”

I pull her to me, kissing her, hoping to clear away some of the confusion. “Don’t pretend like you don’t love crazy. It’s what you’re made of.” I pull her over to my bike and she climbs on behind me.

The drive to my house only takes about fifteen minutes. When we get in, I throw my bag down and turn to face her. She is biting her lip, she’s nervous. “I don’t think this is working anymore. It was only supposed to be a one-night thing. That night at the bar that was supposed to be it. Me being here, meeting your friends. I don’t want it. I mean, what the hell are we even doing?” She moves to reach for the door.

I grab her hand. “Where is this even coming from? I told you that first
night that I want you. Now you can either accept that shit and stop fighting it or walk away for good.” I run her hand over the constant hard on I sport when she is around. “But don’t fool yourself into thinking you won’t miss me.”

“I told you the first night I just wanted sex. It wasn’t supposed to go past that night.” She won’t meet my eyes.

“Fuck that. I can see through you. You aren’t ready yet but I will make you mine eventually.” I can’t believe those words just came out of my mouth. I’ve never wanted to claim a woman. Talking to Whip on the ride put shit into perspective. He asked me if I’d be cool if I saw Nikki with another guy and I swear I wanted to put my fist through a wall. So he told me that’s how I know that I need to claim her ass.

“No. You will not. That’s not an option. I will not be claimed.” Her eyes go hard and cold. What the hell happened with her? There has to be more to this than her dad hating bikers.

“That’s not how this works.” I grip her chin, forcing her to keep my gaze. “What happened to you?”

“None of your damn business.” She spits the words out like venom and I know she’s trying to piss me off and scare me away at the same time.

“That’s where you’re wrong. I’m makin’ you and everything that involves you my business.” My hands brace her face. “You, my little firecracker, whether you want to accept it or not, will be mine. I will have you and you will fucking love it.”

I kiss her and she fights me, her nails scratching a line down my arms. I wince from the pain and pleasure all at once. “You know I like it when you play rough.” I bend down, throwing her over my shoulder.

“Put me down! I’m not kidding!” Her fists pound at my back while I hold her legs to keep them from kicking me. I walk to my room, kicking the door closed and placing her down in front of it. I slam her against the door, my mouth crashing to hers. I force my tongue into her mouth, enjoying the reluctant moan she lets out. Her hands are pushing me away as her mouth is inviting me in.
