He helps nudge me closer to him. We lean our foreheads together, our breaths ragged as I guide him to my entrance. I brace the back of his neck with my other hand, keeping him in place, our eyes observing as his tip is inside me. I whimper as he tries to control himself.

“I’m going to lose it, you feel so fucking good,” he groans as his fingers dig into my thighs. I’d worry about bruising, but I can’t think as he pushes in a fraction of an inch more. Our panting hits each other’s lips, our chests swell as we stay still.

I wrap my legs around his thighs. My eyes meet his, taking in a swirl of coffee color, and I see this man wanting what I want. “I need you now. Now,” I say it with force and he thrusts inside, all of him deep. He stays still and I groan. “Stop teasing me.”

My inner muscles clench around him and he’s short-winded. I can feel him struggling to keep his composure. When my hands move to his ass and I push him forward with my heels, he looks into my eyes. “After this, I’m not sure I can do this again.”

He slowly pulls back and then thrusts up again with force. I whimper at the feel of him hitting my spot. “Me either.”

“Look at me then. When you come, keep your eyes open. I want to memorize every part of this moment.” He’s buried inside me, and then starts his rhythm, gripping my thighs with greed, or as if his life depended on it.

The pressure inside my body is tight and building. The feeling is incredible and I’m not sure how any other time could beat this. He drives inside me, our bodies waving with each other, in harmony. I feel myself rising; my body trembles, and when I feel his fingers rub at the juncture of my thighs, I lose control. My cries ring out as he holds the back of my head, keeping his lips on mine as he mutters for me to keep my eyes open.

With difficulty, I comply. My body is gripping him with a strength that starts from the inside out. My pleasure is overtaking me, and I cry out again as his fingers continue. I close my eyes and scream as I thrash against him. It triggers him and he buries his face in the crook of my neck as I can feel his spurts inside of me. His body pulsing inside mine is the most amazing sensation.

“Don’t leave me,” I mutter, as I rest my head on his shoulder. Tears are streaming down the planes of my face.

He pulls away gently and grabs my jaw, cupping it. “What? What’s this?”

My senses return and I blink, realizing what I’ve done. “I don’t want my husband to leave me.”

Compassion pours from him. “He’d be crazy to.”

I can’t control my emotions and sobs escape. “We were fighting…I got angry and I didn’t mean it.”

He hugs me close, and I hang on for dear life, needing some sense of security. “He knows. Cry on me. I’ve got you. I’ll hold onto you, okay?”

And he does. He holds on until I’m ready to move. Until the tears have subsided. We spend the rest of the day indoors, talking, getting to know one another in a strange way. All types of fears and failures and dramas in life are discussed. We order more room service, watch movies and laugh. And at night, once again, we sleep together.

The next morning, I wake to find an outfit laid out for me on the bed. A simple pair of jeans, a lovely boho top, lingerie, and a pair of Toms are perfectly positioned. I shower and dress, move to the breakfast table to see him packing his brief case. His luggage is by the door. He glances to me and smiles. “I had the concierge get the clothes for you. I looked at your other clothing for the sizes.”

“Jeans are a little big, but that’s fine,” I smile. After wearing a robe all of yesterday, the change was definitely needed. “Thank you. You know my taste.”

He leans over and kisses me. “We’re going to leave here, and we don’t have to tell anyone, okay?”

I close my eyes as we rest against each other. “I don’t know if I could do that…”

“Do you want to do this again?” His shock is making me nervous as he parts from me. “I mean, we could, but…do you want to?”

“I think so,” I nod. “I need this.”

He stays silent, turning the idea over in his head. Finally, he nods. “One month from now. Same time, same place. Deal?”

My mind tells me I should say no, but my heart’s foolish and wants what it wants. I nod. “Deal.”

We give each other one last sweet kiss. “Leave now. I’ll take off in five minutes.”

Tears well up in my eyes. “I don’t know what happens after this...”

“You keep moving forward. It’s a new beginning. That’s it.”

  “My husband…”

He shakes his head. “Don’t say a thing.” I’m about to walk out and he calls me. “You’re perfect. Your husband is a lucky man.”

And with that, I close the door. Reality is ahead of me, and I feel refreshed, revived. My chest swells up as I walk down the hall with my purse and my book. I left my clothing and my inhibitions behind in that room. I’m proud of myself. I talked through issues, and I can see myself being able to open up to Dean with ease. Yes, it’s a good thing. This weekend felt so naughty, so needed, and so damn good.

  * * *

  Two days later…

I bite on my thumbnail as I sit on the leather couch. My foot is bobbing up and down with nerves. Jake was fine when I picked him up. He was happy to see me and didn’t think much else other than his grandparents letting him watch all the television he wanted. He leapt into my arms, told me he missed me, and I was happy with that.

Dean was another issue entirely…He sits beside me now, and I hold his hand. I give an anxious glance when he kisses my knuckles.

The door opens and a woman with long, black corkscrew curls sits opposite from us in a chair. “Good afternoon,” she says, the comforting lilt of her voice puts me at ease. A notepad sits on her lap, and she crosses her hands, looking at the both of us.

“Jaime. Dean. Glad to see you here.” She smiles brightly. “Last time we talked about rebuilding the intimacy in your relationship. How did the role-play scenario go? Did you like it?”

Dean and I look at each other, smiling. “It was different,” he says.

“Jaime, can you tell me how you felt going through with this?” my therapist asks.

“At first, I felt bold and able to do what I wanted. I was flirtatious and going for it. Then in the hotel room, it was just us, and I felt nervous and awkward, like I wasn’t this woman I was trying to embody. Staying in character the whole time was tough, but pretending to have that confidence helped boost my confidence.” I look to Dean and see his concern. “And Dean was amazing. He was attentive to what I needed.”

Dean finally speaks. “I felt really connected to her, and it was fun to put our responsibilities aside for a little while to get lost in each other.”

“He used his real job and his own middle name though,” I chuckle.

His cheeks redden just a bit. “Give me a break, Vivien. Her favorite movie’s Pretty Woman. And you gave up that you were a hairdresser.”

“Only because you surprised me by saying I was lying about my occupation as a librarian.” I smack his shoulder, as the therapist laughs along with us.

“Did you feel like you learned some valuable things? If so, in what way?”

I nodded my head. “It helped us to communicate. Plotting out the ideas, figuring out what we liked and didn’t like, really opened up our ability to explore what we need to work on.”

Dean agrees. “It made me remember all the reasons why I fell for Jaime. It was like meeting her all over again. It expanded our boundaries. I realized how important it is to really listen to her to see what she needs and how she’ll work with me to give me what I need too.”

“So, is this something you’re willing to do again?” Our therapist asks.

Dean and I gaze into each other’s eyes. Who knew this was something to help us on our journey? I was close-minded about it at first, but it gives us something to look forward to, plan out, and have fun together. Our fantasies are coming to life, and that’s more enjoyable
than I can imagine.

“Definitely,” he and I say together. And just like that, our hunger for one another is sparked. The promise we made long ago to love each other until death do us part—is ignited.

SIN ON A STICK ~ JENNA JACOB

The past eighteen hours had been a bitch for Jade Hollis. After she’d been ‘downsized,’ the politically correct term for shit-canned, she sought the nearest bar and proceeded to attempt hari-kari Patrón style. When she’d awakened this morning—hungover like a pickled herring—she’d broken up with her cheating live-in boyfriend, packed her things, and hit the road. It was time to find a new life. Thankfully she had a fat severance check in her purse and a healthy savings account to help her achieve her goal.

“Always try to find the silver lining, even when your clouds are nothing but shit,” she drawled sardonically.

Irked at her unforeseen twist of fate, Jade punched the accelerator of her prehistoric pickup, and watched Denton and her fucked-up relationship fade away in her rearview mirror. With no destination in mind, she drove aimlessly as disappointment and regret bled from her veins.

Sailing through the small town of Krum, she spotted a sign for Haven. A tingle skittered over her flesh as visions of Colton Maddox flooded her mind, and her panties.

Jade’s high school crush had always owned a piece of her heart. Colton was Sin-On-A-Stick. In fact, she’d given him the nickname ‘Stick’ when they were freshmen. Always trying to stay one step ahead of her, Colton had bestowed her with the nickname ‘Kitten’. Jade loathed his insulting moniker. It was a constant reminder that she was among a handful of girls who Colton had never kissed, touched, or fucked.

He’d been a complete manwhore back in the day, probably still was. While it stung that he’d never done the deed with Jade, a part of her was glad. She’d always wanted to be more than just another notch on his bedpost. And in many ways she had been. She was his friend. They’d opened their souls to one another and shared a bond far more intimate than sex. Still, a secret part of her wanted that aching mystery solved and to experience all the naughty thrills he could bestow on her body.

It was sad that the strapping blue-eyed blond still played the starring role in her masturbation fantasies.

“Sad? More like pathetic,” she groused out loud.

The sexual chemistry between them had been like an F-5 tornado, on meth. Unfortunately, their romantic timing sucked donkey balls. Karma, the wicked bitch, seemed on a mission to keep them apart. Whenever Jade was free to pursue her darkest, dirtiest fantasies with Colton, he was inevitably smitten with yet another ‘let-me-do-the-splits-on-your-face’ cheerleader. When he grew bored with his rah-rah, pom-pom-toting flavor of the month, it never failed that Jade was hooked up with some rodeo-wannabe, who promised to love her forever.

Lord, if she had a nickel for every horn-dog who’d fed her that line, she’d be richer than Oprah.

A wistful, melancholy smile tugged at her lips. Colton had been more than her best friend; he’d been her confidant…her rock. He’d been there when she needed a laugh, a hug, a Kleenex, or bolstering words of encouragement. Colton was strength, safety, and had been the only constant in her life. He’d never candy-coated a thing, or blown smoke up her ass. Sadly, he’d never even touched her ass, and wasn’t that a crying shame?

After graduation he’d made a point of coming by the house to give her a hug and a smile, before moving to the tiny town of Haven to take over his grandfather’s cattle ranch.

A wave of guilt poured through her. She’d not returned the favor of telling him good-bye. Instead, Jade simply faded off his radar and moved away. It wasn’t that she’d intentionally snubbed the man, but circumstances and time had warranted her sudden exodus. At least that’s what she’d tried to convince herself.

Anticipation hummed through her the closer she drew to Haven. Why was she blazing a trail toward Colton, and dredging up this shit? It should be ancient history, but for some stupid-assed reason, she knew she had to see him before she could move on with her life.

Hell, she didn’t even know if he was still raising cattle in Haven, or if he’d be happy to see her. No doubt he’d married, settled down, and had a couple dozen kids by now.

The thought made her stomach swirl. “There’s no way in hell some lucky little bitch hasn’t snatched up Stick. And isn’t that just a cosmic fuck you? Shit. This is probably going to be awkward as hell.”

Before Jade could find a spot to turn her truck around and head the other way, the sign welcoming her to Haven was in front of her.

After pulling onto Main Street, Jade parked in front of a quaint café. A little smile tugged at her lips. The place was packed. She hoped someone inside could give her directions to Colton’s ranch.

Climbing down from her truck, Jade turned and closed the door. She spied a tall, beefy blond exiting a sedan. His plaid shirt—with the sleeves rolled up—hugged his bulging biceps like a second skin. Her pulse quickened. Her mouth went dry. She’d know the angle of that nose and the jut of that rugged jaw anywhere.

Still, when he turned and the shock of those familiar blue eyes seized her, her heart skipped like a flat rock across a pond. Want and desire slammed through her.

“Colton.” His name fluttered off her lips in a reverent whisper.

  * * *

Blinking, Colton did a double take. The woman who’d haunted his dreams for nearly a decade was standing right in front of him—that, or she was a mirage. But the angel he’d lost long ago didn’t vanish like smoke. Instead, she held his stare prisoner with her dark, soulful eyes. A stab of longing pierced Colton’s heart. The air stilled in his lungs and his head grew dizzy.

  “Jade,” he murmured.

He didn’t know whether to kiss her or spank her…maybe both. Lunging toward her, Colton felt as if his boots were filled with lead; his feet refused to budge.

Pull your shit together, Romeo, before she jumps back into her truck and drives the fuck away.

“Jade? My god, that really is you, isn’t it?” Colton barked.

Prying his boots from the pavement, he hurried toward her. When she flashed him that familiar dick-stiffening smile, he faltered but quickly recovered his gait.

  “Of course it’s me, silly.”

Her voice was low, husky, and sensual. All the blood in Colton’s body shot straight to his cock. He wanted to bend her over the hood of his car and mount her like a heifer in season. Instead, Colton wrapped his arms around her and clutched her tightly against his chest.

Her soft, lush curves molded against him as if she’d been made for him. And she was, dammit! But he hadn’t come to that conclusion until Jade had disappeared. He buried his face into her long auburn curls, closed his eyes, and inhaled a ragged breath. His throat constricted. Christ, she even smelled the same—an intoxicating mixture of sunshine, lilac, and sin. Colton wanted to toss a lasso around her, haul her to his ranch, and tie her to his bed.

From the very first day they’d met, he’d known Jade was different from other girls. She was real. Genuine. She had a blinding personality, was quick to laugh, and never took life too seriously. Like the sun, she brightened his world. Hell, every time he watched her walk into the room, he
saw no one but her.

It wasn’t long before their friendship took on a deeper, more meaningful connection. He’d bravely shared his hopes, dreams, fears and failures with Jade, knowing she would keep his secrets locked safely inside her soul.

Even as a horny pubescent teen, Colton had realized the value of their rare friendship. He’d never tried to seduce Jade. Not for lack of wanting, but he’d known that if he treated her like every other girl, he’d fuck up something precious.

Back then the boy inside him didn’t know how to love her, but the man he’d grown to be sure as hell did.

“God, you feel so good,” she whispered in a tiny quiver.

That little wobble in her voice was Colton’s second indication that something was wrong. His first was seeing her in Haven.

“So do you,” he assured her, biting back the string of questions poised on the tip of his tongue.

Unable to release her, Colton struggled to ignore the scrape of her beaded nipples against his chest, and the throb of demand between his legs. He wasn’t about to let his cravings distract him, until he found out why she’d fucking left him without a good-bye.

Colton clenched his jaw. Jade had sought him out for a reason, and after all these years it must be a damn important one.

“What’s happened, sweetheart? What do you need me to do?” Rather, who do you need me to kill? His conscience snarled.

A humorless chuckle rolled off Jade’s lips as she eased back to peer up at him. His eyes fell to her plump, perfect lips. The ones he’d envisioned stretched tight around his fat cock. Christ, he couldn’t think about that now. But when her mouth lifted into a sassy smile, he had to bite back a groan.

“Nothing’s happened. At least not anything disastrous…well, not really. I don’t need you to slay any dragons, if that’s what you’re asking.” Her expression turned pensive. “It’s just…I-I left Denton this morning in search of a new life. You know, start over again. And when I saw the sign for Haven…I decided to stop by and say hi.”
