  Tase stands up and takes his shirt and jacket off. He sets them on the couch, and then looks at Adara. She can feel the air around her start to change and sees a bit of a flicker surrounding Tase. In a matter of moments, a large white wolf with bright green eyes is standing in front of her.

  “Holy crap!” Adara yells as she jumps back and falls over the coffee table.

  Tase quickly changes back to help her up.

  “I’m not kidding.” He says smiling and extending his hand.

  Adara isn’t sure if she should trust him and take his hand, but does so anyway.

  “I don’t know what to say. Are you going to hurt me? Do you even hurt people at all? How is this all possible?”

  “Calm down. I won’t hurt you and we don’t hurt anyone. We enjoy our peace and quiet on our farm. Our family has been here for a very long time and no one knows about us. We would like to keep it that way.”

  “This may take some getting used to.”

  “I kind of figured that.”

  Tase talks to Adara some more, answering any questions she has about shifters and what it’s like. He notices she is slowly warming back up to him and becoming okay with the fact. He was afraid she would reject him and try to get them captured or worse. Killed. After a few hours of explaining, and proving himself to her he finally gets to head home to tell his parents how she took the news.

  ♥Twelve♥

  Adara was in shock for a while. She isn’t sure he wants to get to know Tase more, but he seemed harmless. She knows what he is shouldn’t exist, but they do. And know they are a part of her life. Hell, she works for and with them.

  It takes some time, but Adara becomes okay with Tase being a shifter. In fact, she is kind of turned on by the idea. She enjoys watching them run at night in wolf form, and even takes long walks with them around the out skirts of town. Adara feels she has a deeper connection with Tase now more than ever.

  Over the next week Adara and Tase have spent all of their free time with each other. They go out to eat, tend to the animals, and even just sit and watch movies with each other. Tase has taught Adara how to ride horses, even though she is still learning, and is teaching her how to round up the cattle. Adara loves the country life, and wonders why she never found out about it sooner.

  Christmas is just a week away and Adara is hoping she can spend it with Tase. She doesn’t think he will mind having her around since they already spend all day with each other. Mr. and Mrs. Doubleton even invite Adara to have dinner with them on occasion. They treat her like she is a part of the family now.

  Thing couldn’t have been better for her right now. She is glad she stayed instead of moving back to the big city, even though she didn’t have the money to move back even if she wanted. She is even happier now that there are no secrets between them. They can be completely honest with each other, which has always been a major factor in any relationship she starts. Adara has always loved wolves as well, and now she has one all to herself. He may not be an animal, but he is a wolf nonetheless.

  Adara is making progress quickly working on the farm. She can finally pick up a roll of chicken wire without help, and she even learned how to move the bales of hay on her own. Tase now has extra time to work on the equipment so it is ready by spring. When Adara finished with the horses she likes to watch Tase work on the tractor. Something about him getting all dirty seems to turn her on.

  Tase catches Adara staring at him and flashes her a smile then goes back to work. Adara finishes up with feeding the cattle and is done for the day. She heads up to the house to help Mrs. Doubleton with some cooking for a town cook off and puts it in the truck.

  After Tase is done working for the day they head out with his mom to the cook out. They hang out with Mrs. Doubleton for a few hours at the cook out and then head over to Adara’s. They watch a few movies and talk for a bit. Adara asks a few more questions about Tase being a wolf. She is pleased with all of his answers and finally feels like she understands everything about him and his family.

  Tase enjoys Adara trying to understand their way of life and what they are. Most others would be afraid, and run after what she saw. Instead she embraced it and wants to learn more. Adara questions him about every little thing and he tells her. She is both amazed and confused about some things until he shows her. Once everything is cleared up Adara seems more at ease.

  Tase and Adara watch movies after he answers her questions. They sit quietly and just enjoy each other’s company. After a while Tase decides it’s time to go home and heads out.

  ♥Thirteen♥

  Its Christmas Eve and Tase’s family always has a large dinner. He knows Adara doesn’t have any family around and his mother tells him to go pick her up. Tase takes off in the truck and heads to Adara’s.

  Adara is at home by herself. She is planning on going to the restaurant for dinner. As she is getting ready to leave she hears a knock on the door. She finds Tase waiting on the other end.

  “Hey. What are you doing tonight?”

  “I was getting ready to go out to eat since I didn’t feel like cooking. Why is something wrong?”

  “Oh, no. Sorry, didn’t mean to make you think something was wrong. We wanted to know if you wanted to come have Christmas dinner with us. Mom always makes a ton of food so we will have plenty for everyone.”

  “Oh. Um, sure I would love to have dinner with you guys.” Adara smiles.

  “Great. You ready to head back to the farm then?”

  “Yeah let’s go.”

  Adara locks up her apartment, and they head to Tase’s house for Christmas dinner. They have a ton of food to choose from. His mom made a turkey, ham, three different casseroles, mashed potatoes, and country style mixed vegetables. After dinner they enjoy desert, pumpkin pie, cherry pie and Tase’s favorite butter apple pie.

  Adara is stuffed and ready to relax. Mr. and Mrs. Doubleton head to bed while her and Tase stay up and watch “A Christmas Story.” Tase sits on the couch next to Adara and hits play. While they are watching the movies Adara curls up and covers herself with the throw blanket. Tase slowly puts his arm around and snuggles in under the blanket to keep warm as well.

  Half way through the movie Tase is rubbing Adara’s arm in slow circular motions. It sends chills down Adara’s spine. She enjoys the comforting gesture and snuggles closer.

  ♥Fourteen♥

  Tase couldn’t believe he was finally able to get close to Adara. He was making sure he showed her that he was interested. When she snuggled closer his heart skipped a beat. Tase places a kiss on her head and she looks up at him with a smile. He smiles back and places another small kiss to her lips.

  Adara is both shocked and happy by this. She sits up a bit and looks into Tase’s eyes. She can see all of the desire and need in a single look. She smiles at him and kisses him, this time deeper. He gently tangles his fingers in her hair and brings her closer to him deepening their kiss. His tongue pushes past her, already parted, lips and explores her mouth. She willingly lets him have his fill.

  Adara now has a burning desire rising from the pit of her stomach. She climbs on top of Tase and straddles him with her legs. His hands are now wondering up and down her back and thighs. She lets out a soft moan when he cups her ass.

  Tase picks her up and carries her down the hall to his bedroom, while never breaking their kiss. He places her on the bed and slowly lowers himself on top of her. He continues to kiss her with more passion and need. His hands are now sliding up her shirt to feel her bare skin. Her skin is as soft as he imagined.

  Adara reaches up and tugs at Tase’s shirt. He sits up and lets her remove it. She stares for a minute and the body of a god. She looks up and sees a smile on his face.

  “Do you like what you see?”

  All Adara can do is nod. He takes her face in his han
ds and kisses her again. When he releases her, he removes her shirt. Now it is his turn to be amazed. She is slender with curves in all the right places. Tase places kisses from her neck to her navel. Adara gets goose bumps and he laughs at her. He slowly works his way down to her pants and undoes them. Tase pulls them off and kisses her thighs.

  He then removes her pink lace underwear. Tase rubs his hands up and down her thighs one last time and then parts her legs. Adara lies back and willing lets him in. First he licks gently, savoring the taste. Then he quickens his pace and pushes two fingers past her fold into her channel. Adara gasps with pleasure.

  Tase stops feasting and starts to play with her nub for a bit. He rubs it slow at first as he removes her bra with his other hand.   The next morning Tase wakes up to an unknown feeling. He has hair wrapped around his fingers and tickling his nose. He opens his eyes and suddenly he remembers. Adara is in the bed with him. He smiles and starts to play with her hair. He mated the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on. She stirs for a bit and then settles back into sleep.

  Tase gets up and gets dressed. He is not sure if his parents are awake yet, and the animals have to be fed this morning. Tase decides he will just feed them on his own and let Adara sleep a bit more. After all, she looked so peaceful.

  After he was done feeding the animals he heads back to the house to see if everyone is awake. When he gets inside he finds out everyone is in fact still sleeping. He goes back to the bedroom and wakes up Adara.

  “Good morning sweetie.”

  “Good morning.” She smiles at him.

  “Did you sleep well?”

  “After last night, who wouldn’t be able to sleep well?” She laughs.

  Adara gets out of bed and goes to get dressed, but Tase stops her.

  “How about a shower before we start our day?”

  “Oh, a shower would be wonderful.”

  Tase grabs her by the hand and leads her to the bathroom connected to his bedroom. He starts the shower and gets undressed. Once they are fully wet, he washes Adara’s hair and conditions it for her. He lathers her up and helps her rinse off. Then it is Adara’s turn. She helps him wash his hair and body. They get out and dry each other off. Tase tries to help Adara wrap her wet hair up, but couldn’t figure it out. After thirty minutes of laughter and Tase trying to get it to work, he gives up and lets Adara do it. Then they head into the bedroom to get dressed.

  After about an hour in the shower they are both finally clean and ready to start their day. Adara has completely forgotten that today is Christmas and Tase’s family is supposed to be visiting today.

  When they head into the living room they are both greeted with a surprise. Tase’s parents, as well as his sister, brother, and uncle are all out their waiting for them. Adara is a bit nervous being around so many wolves, but Tase comforts her with his thoughts.

  Its ok my love. They are just like my parents and I. We won’t let anyone or anything hurt you. You are now a part of the family and will always be protected.

  Adara looks at him again with love in her eyes. She knows he wouldn’t let a single person hurt her and it helps her relax.

  Thanks so much. I needed to hear that.

  She sends back to him with a smile.

  His mother has the largest grin on her face he has ever seen. He looks over at Adara, who is completely embarrassed, and smiles. They go and sit with each other on the couch. Once they get comfy every wishes them a Merry Christmas. They pass presents around and drink eggnog.

  Adara enjoys all the company and at some point Mrs. Doubleton made it a point to toast her and Tase on their new relationship. Tase wanted to cringe, while Adara thought it was cute.

  After hours of spending time with Tase’s family they all head home. They have all opened their presents and had a wonderful Christmas lunch with each other. Now the house has died down and she can spend some time with Tase.

  He goes over and pulls her up off of the couch.

  “Come I have something I want to show you.”

  “What is it?”

  “You will see.”

  Tase takes out a blindfold and covers her eyes. He leads her to the back door of the house and tells her to wait there. He runs off and then several minutes later tells her to remove her blindfold. Adara does as she is told and sees the most beautiful horse in the world. She is all black with a coat that shines like a diamond. There is a brand new saddle on her back as well. It’s light brown with sterling silver and rhinestones.

  Adara stands there in shock not knowing what to do or say. She has no idea how Tase was able to get her a present so fast.

  “Do you like her?”

  “I love her!”

  Tase takes the horse and puts her in the stables with the rest. It was the best gift Adara has ever received.

  ♥Sixteen♥

  Adara goes with Tase to put her new beauty in the stables. She feels bad because she couldn’t get him anything for Christmas. Then again she didn’t expect to even have him in time for Christmas either.

  They stay out there for a bit so Adara can greet her new buddy. She talks to her and gives her oats and apples.

  “What are you going to name her?”

  “Oh, I didn’t realize she didn’t have a name yet.”

  “No name, I left that up to you. After all, she is your horse.”

  After what seemed like hours Adara finally thought of the perfect name.

  “I well name her Astra.”

  “I like it. A name that means “star” will fit a horse like her perfectly.”

  Adara smiles and pets Astra on the nose one more time before they leave. She gets a nice big, wet kiss from Astra and then they head back to the house. On their way in Adara is stopped by Tase’s mother after she asks him to help his father with the
last feeding for the horses.

  “Adara. I just wanted to let you know how happy I am to see that you two have finally acted on your feelings.”

  “I am too Mrs. Doubleton. I haven’t been this happy in a very long time.”

  “Please, call me Mary. After all, you are now mated to my son and a part of the family.”

  And with that, Mary hugs Adara and walks into the living room. Adara stands there and thinks about what Mary said. It’s nice to finally have a family and fit in. Adara thought for just a second it might not be what she wanted, but Mary just proved her wrong. She is right where she belongs.

  When Tase gets back they talk about the mating that occurred last night. They haven’t had a chance sine his family showed up. He tells her she can now shift into a smaller wolf than normal since she is human, and mated a shifter and takes her for her first run.

  Tase tells her to think about a wolf, any color, shape, and size. Think about the long fur coat, four legs, and wet nose. He explains that she has to picture a wolf vividly to be able to shift. After a few seconds Adara shifts on her first try. Tase knew there was a reason he loved her.

  She is beautiful in wolf form. Her body glowed, as she changed, light blue flickers surrounded her and a slight shift in the air was present. Her wolf is a peachy, white with bright blue eyes. She is about three inches shorter than Tase, but their wolves fit perfectly together.

  They run all around the property to let her get use to her new heightened senses. Her hearing is better, her seeing is now in black, white, and grey, and her sense of smell is immaculate. She is loving being able to shift with them now.

  After a few hours of enjoying her new found wolf, they head back to the house. Adara shifts back first and goes inside. She waits for Tase by the door.

  Tase comes up behind her and hugs her. She turns around and he points up to the ceiling. When she looks up she sees a mistletoe hanging directly above where she is standing. She can’t help but smile at him.
