She gasped and looked around. She was in an old house with antique furniture, yet it smelled like a new car. “Where am I?” She gasped as another wash of ecstasy rolled through her.
“I’ve brought you to my house where you’ll be safe,” he said. His eyes almost sparkled in the lights of the dining room. “Would you like a drink?”
“I’d like you to tell me what’s going on. What exactly am I safe from?” she asked.
“Well, babydoll, I wish I knew. What I do know is that I couldn’t leave you there salivating.”
“I…feel…” She moaned. She sure as hell wasn’t going to tell this fit-as-fuck stranger that she was close to having an orgasm, all because of some pretty boy. Now, the confident man in tailored clothes standing before her…he was her every fantasy. Hell, she was sure she’d written him into one of her books. She wondered what he looked like under his clothes, but snapped out of it.
“You and every other gal in that joint.” He went to a small bar, poured whiskey into a glass, and held it up to Josie. She shook her head in refusal, still trying to keep the wine down. “He must have some sort of call.” He sipped from the glass.
“How did we get here, and where exactly is here?” Josie asked, and sat back against the long table. Every sense was on high alert. Did someone slip something into my wine?
“Now that would be telling, wouldn’t it?” His voice, low like a purr, sent shivers down her arms. She had hoped she would meet someone at the end of the night, maybe even go back to their place, but this was not what she had imagined. Of course, the man standing before her was pretty much her description of perfect, but something didn’t feel right.
“What about my friends? Are they all right?” Josie’s voice shook as she said the words out loud.
“Your friends are fine. I assure you.” His words relaxed her, and he pressed his lips to the glass once more, and walked up to her. Josie held her breath, hoping that her amazing makeup was still intact, and watched his every move. Despite his height, he walked with a certain grace, and his eyes told of the many things he’d seen in his life. “And you’re okay, thanks to me.” He traced his fingers lightly down her shoulder. Goose flesh broke across her pale skin and she let out her breath.
“Who are you?” she asked, leaning into him.
“My name is David Malm.” He smiled. “And you are…?”
“Josie McNair.”
“Josie…” He growled, then bit his lip. “Well, sugar, what ever shall I do with you?”
“Maybe you should take me home,” Josie said, growing nervous at the ever-increasing rate of her sex drive. What was she doing? Jesus, Josie, get your head out of your backside! This isn’t one of your stories; this is your life!
“You’re not going anywhere. I can see your hitched breath—” his fingers traced her lips—”the flushing of your cheeks—” he stroked the back of his hand across her cheek—”the crossing of your legs—” he dipped between her legs and she had to bend back to look up at him—”you want me just as much as I want you. Why fight it?” He traced his fingers back up along the collar of her dress and she felt them graze her pert nipple. She gasped and held his wrist still.
She panted softly. “There’s…no time.”
“Time is not a worry, sugar. We can make love for days and no one would notice your absence.”
“Oh!” His face brushed against hers. Although invisible to the naked eye, she felt a day’s worth of stubble along his jaw. She slid close to him, spreading her legs farther, and pressed her nose against his. She heard the soft click of his glass as he set it down.
His hand found the zipper at the back of her bodice dress and she stood. The thin red material slid to the ground as she wriggled her hips. He stood back, taking her in. Her breasts fell free and she was naked but for her black lace shorts and shoe-boots. His eyes studied every exposed inch and Josie felt inclined to cover herself, but when she moved her hand, he stopped her. Heat pooled between her thighs as his gaze leveled with her own.
“Wow. Even better than I pictured.” He took Josie in his arms. He slid his hands across her hips and turned her around. He moved down and cupped the round cheeks of her ass. “And what a perfect ass.” He smacked it lightly and when Josie groaned in pleasure, he did it again, this time harder.
That left a mark. She gave a sly smile and spun back around. Biting down on her lip, she tore at his shirt, causing the buttons to fall away. The material peeled back to expose a chest ripped with muscles. She gasped and ran her hands down his skin. She’d never seen anyone so perfect in all her life. He was sturdy and warm. The sheer potency of her attraction to him made her stomach quiver.
He pushed her back against the table and threw her legs over his shoulders. He traced light kisses along her flat stomach and hips. The heels of her boots dug into his back, and she groaned, trying not to scream for more.
He grunted and gripped her tighter. “Baby girl, I’m going to fuck you until you beg me to stop.”
“I don’t beg.” Josie moaned, and he lifted her up, dropping her legs beside him until they were face-to-face.
“It’s a good thing we have all the time in the world then,” he said before he kissed her. His tongue sought hers, and all the blood rushed to Josie’s cheeks. She wrapped her legs around his waist and put her fingers where her heels had been.
Josie couldn’t believe this was happening. One minute she was enjoying a night out with the WLF girls, and the next she was close to having sex with a complete stranger, who had an air of bizarre about him. But she’d never wanted anything more in her entire life. So she gave into desire and let him have his way with her.

The girl, Josie McNair, had given herself to him in one small and eager little package. He studied every inch of her small frame and the array of tattoos—the cherry blossom tree on her ribs, the blonde pinup on her shoulder, and the Day of the Dead skulls on her wrists. He nipped at the tiny freckle on her inner thigh as she ran her hands through his hair. She smelled of spiced apples, and her pale skin was as soft as a peach.
He took the black lace panties and pulled them down her long, delectable legs. She bent one knee, and he kissed the side of her calf as they slipped from the end of her shoe and fell to the ground. David slid his hands beneath her ass and pushed her farther onto the table. She dropped her bent knee, and he buried his face between her legs, flashing his tongue over her swollen clit. Her body tensed and her nails dug deep into his shoulders. He slipped two fingers inside of her and curled them against her quivering muscles.
David looked up at her with only his eyes and saw her glide across the table, her breathing erratic, and her arms moved aimlessly, as if she didn’t know what to do with them. He would have quite happily fucked her right there and then on the table, but he thought she deserved more. He took hold of her back and pulled her onto his waist.
Her head snapped forward, her eyes still closed, and she asked, “What are you doing?”
“I’m taking you to my bed, baby girl, where I can worship that amazing body of yours better,” he said, and walked through the hallway into the bedroom. He had a king-size bed with soft black sheets and a gold comforter. He lowered Josie onto the edge of the bed, and standing in front of her, ran his fingers through her hair.
Her hands traveled over his stomach and trailed the rim of his pants. She unhooked the button, pulled the zipper, and pushed them and his briefs down his legs. His cock was hard, and it ached when she was so close. He stepped out of the pants and kicked his shoes and socks to the side. When he stood up again, Josie ran her hand along the length of his pulsing muscle. He placed a hand on her shoulder to keep his balance and held his breath. She teased the tip with her soft lips and little strokes of her tongue. His body shook, and he bent down to her.
“Keep doing that, baby girl, and I’ll have to toss you around.” He groaned, and she smirked with a slight growl as she bit down on her lip.
“Come on then,” she said,
leaning back and pulling his body over hers. “Show me what you got.”
Damn, this girl is going to get me into trouble! Without a doubt, she embodies my every desire in a woman. Feisty, fiery, and drop-dead gorgeous.
David clicked his fingers next to Josie’s ear and music started to play through hidden speakers. Josie looked up at him in confusion. She, of course, had no idea that he had brought her forward to his time—the year 3042. The house was over a thousand years old, as was the furniture, so without stepping outside she would have no idea.
He traced kisses along the length of her body, stopping to graze his teeth across her nipples and came back to her pussy, wet with need. He pressed his mouth over the clit once more, and when she tugged on his hair, he pulled up and slid inside her. Oh God, she’s so tight.
She gasped, her hands now on the cheeks of his ass as he pressed into her. She spread her legs farther and lifted her head as she moaned.
At the rate she’s grinding into me I won’t last long. He threw all his weight into her and pushed her wrists against the bed. She started to scream, at first there were no words, and then it was his name.
Oh fuck! David closed his eyes and thought to step away, realizing that in the heat of the moment he hadn’t worn a condom, and although he wouldn’t need it with new advances, she didn’t know that. But when he opened his eyes again, they were no longer in his house. Josie’s screams turned to that of fear, and she jumped up into his arms.
“What the fuck?” she yelled, and suddenly pushed away, his cock sliding from her, and she covered her body.
Shit! He’d traveled in the heat of the moment and took the girl with him. They were high on the coast of Skåne in Sweden, where his family was from. It was night, and the moon shone down on Josie’s beautiful body as she shivered from the cold. David went there often when he had to think, but he’d never experienced this. Never, during sex or any other time in his adult life, had he accidentally traveled. Not since he was a little boy. David was very much in control of his power and even took pride in it. It was why people from far and wide came to him as a trusted peacekeeper.
“I’m sorry, baby girl. I should have explained.”
“Stop calling me ‘baby girl’ for just one second, and tell me what the fuck you are!” Her whole body shook. She was racked with fear and it was David’s fault. He’d never planned for that. She was different. He could actually see himself with her.
No. Time-travelers must live the bachelor’s life. It’s too dangerous otherwise. “I’m a time-traveler,” he said, plain and simple. There was no other way to put it.
“Like Hiro, that bloke from Heroes?” she asked, her mouth open, and David laughed. He knew what she meant, and luckily for her, he was not one for feeling such an insult. She didn’t know any better.
“But much more handsome.” He winked, and she smirked, but turned her face so he wouldn’t see. “This doesn’t usually happen. It was something you—” He stopped.
“Something I what?” David noted the thickness in her accent which was becoming more apparent as she got angry. He found it alluring, and all he wanted to do was take her, again and again, but he got the feeling that the time for that had passed. His clumsiness had scared her off.
He told the truth, something else he didn’t do too often with women. “I like you. I don’t know you, but I like you, for some reason.”
“And that made you pull this mental trick? Okay, time-traveler, take me home.” Her voice was cruel, and her eyes were full of anger and pain. They gleamed as if tears were there, but none dropped.
“Josie, I’m really sorry,” he said sincerely. Shit, shit, shit! He really didn’t want to let her go, but he wouldn’t hold her against her will. David bowed his head and sighed. “Address.”
“43A Springwell Place, Edinburgh.”
He grabbed her arm, which she thankfully didn’t snatch back, and he took her home, zipping away before she saw him. He returned to his house, in 3042, and relied on the seventy-year-old single malt to get over the only girl to make him slip up. He wouldn’t sleep that night. Not with her sweet smell all over his sheets.
But when the fuck did David Malm give up so fast?
Never.
He grinned to himself and settled back a little more comfortably in his chair. Josie McNair would not run from him that easily, and he decided it then and there.
Chapter Three
Josie was back in her flat so fast she could barely comprehend what had happened. Holy crap! He really is a time-traveler!
He was gone, of course, and Josie couldn’t help but feel hurt by that. He hadn’t stuck around to say goodbye or thanks for the fuck. Then again, she’d shunned him and demanded he take her home. He did what she’d asked of him, so why was she upset?
Yet she still felt the rush of lust, the heat of passion deep in her soul. It coursed through her veins like a drug. She was still naked, except for her shoes. She’d left her bag and mobile phone at the bar, and her favorite dress and panties were at David’s house. Wherever, or whenever, the hell that was.
Josie ran to the hall after kicking off the shoes that blistered her feet and put on the thin white robe hanging from the door of her tiny bathroom. She lived in a one-bedroom flat near the West End. There was no shower, only a bath, but she didn’t mind. Josie didn’t need luxury to be happy.
After she finally felt warm, she picked up the house phone and dialed Noelle’s number. Noelle was Josie’s closest friend. They helped each other out in times of need, were a shoulder for each to cry on, and Josie had even convinced Noelle to pluck up the courage to join WLF. It rang a dozen times before her voice mail picked up.
Damn! “Noelle, it’s Josie. Are you all right? Are the other girls all right? Please call my house when you get this. I lost my mobile at the bar. Something crazy happened. Please call me, Noelle. I’m really worried.” She threw the phone down after pressing end. She was at a loss.
The website! She moved to the desk sitting next to her small, flat screen television. The computer was in sleep mode, so a single tap on the mouse was all it needed to flicker back to life. She refreshed the webpage and saw that the last post was some of the girls having a countdown until they met.
Double damn! Dizzy is permanently stuck to her phone. She’d have to answer!
Josie went to the phone again and dialed Dizzy’s number. It rang twice and then went to voice mail. What the hell is happening?
“Dizz, call me as soon as you get this. At my house.”
What the hell was she going to do? She certainly wasn’t going to go back to The Blood Bar, besides she had no car and no cash. A visit to the bank was going to be first on the list of things to do Monday morning, she thought absently.
Josie finally decided that a bath would calm her shattered nerves and the insistent pool of orgasms ready to burst from her, and of David Malm, or rather what he’d done. Time-traveler? I mean, really, who does he think he’s kidding? But then again, how else would you explain jumping from bar, to house, to the middle of nowhere in seconds?
Josie filled the tub, pouring in a little bit of lavender bath salts to soothe her. She went to the kitchen and rolled herself a cigarette. Josie didn’t typically smoke, but on occasion, usually after a long, hard day or too much to drink—or the once a year she’d have great sex—she’d let herself indulge.
David had been the best sex she’d ever had. Not that she was terribly experienced. Josie had had only two boyfriends her whole life, both of which treated her like shit under their shoe. She’d had a few one-night stands here and there, though not often. But she got the feeling that even the most experienced of women would have been greatly impressed with David’s skills. He’d made her scream as if her voice did not belong to her. And for a minute, when they’d first arrived at some random coastline, she’d thought her mind had created the scene from the intensity of her almost orgasm.
She shook her head, lit the cigarette, and stepped into the bathroom, droppin
g the robe to the carpet. She pressed play on the iPod docked in the speakers and slid into the tub with the cigarette hanging between her lips. The room clouded in steam and cleared Josie’s senses as she lay in the warmth and thought of nothing. The music was slow, instrumental, each song at least fifteen minutes long and made Josie feel as if she were in a forest, in another world. One of the fantasy worlds she had created for her books.
She stubbed the cigarette out in the small dish that sat on the floor at the corner of the tub and dunked her head under, wetting her hair. She washed the makeup from her face and then shampooed her dark tresses. She dipped her head back under and felt the wash of ecstasy blunder through every aching muscle in her body. When she came back up, her hand between her legs to hopefully get rid of the urges that consumed her, she caught the silhouette of someone in the room with her. She screamed until it bounced off every wall and rang inside her head.

David Malm was not the kind of man to let someone so human affect him this way, but then again, he’d never been refused before. She was gorgeous, there was no doubt about it. Exactly his type. Dark, messy hair, the palest green eyes he’d ever seen in a human being, like fresh spring grass, and a petite frame that curved at the hips.
His cock was desperate to break free from the confinement of his pants just thinking of her. She’d relit a burning fire inside his soul that he’d lost when his parents died. He looked forward to seeing her again, even if she were to yell, kick, and scream.
He sobered himself up and took a long, much needed shower. He thought of shaving, but decided against it when he remembered Josie running her hands over his stubble. She must like it rough…in more ways than one. He smiled as he thought of all the things he would do to her, but first, he had to find out exactly what happened inside The Blood Bar and why.
